Visit Cuba

Car enthusiast will love this place!

American cars from the 1940s and 1950s, which still make up a significant form of transportation for the island nation

The Best Beaches in Cuba

The Best Beaches in Cuba More air carrier services will  be facilitated (think code-sharing and more flights to Cuba), and it’s  now easier for U.S. companies to film movies in Cuba: expect more hilarious clips from traveling comedians and dreamy Caribbean scenes in the next Fast and Furious. On the economic front, restrictions on payment and financing for certain exports have been removed or eased.  But the best part? You don't have to wait to see those antique cars IRL.

Visit Now Before time catches them.

Americans have long thought of Cuba as a time capsule, waiting for  us, but tourism and globalization have been flourishing there for years,  bringing change with them. And now that Americans are poised to pour  onto the island in huge numbers, it is essential to learn the  lessons Cuba has to offer, before they risk being buried by the tide. So go there. Now. You.

Travel Blosgs and Tips

Great Motorcycle Trip

We were very fortunate to go on a great trip with some awesome people this past week.

We headed out to Louisiana to see the Angola State Prison Rodeo.   We saw so much beauty and history on our way down. Eight days and only 5 minutes of rain for which I am very thankful for.

Posted are some pictures of our travels on our Facebook page.

Eight Ways Travel Agents Add Value To Your Vacation In 2017

Cheryl Rosen

 February 17, 2017

There’s no do-over for a vacation gone wrong.   Every moment of the time you take off from work, whether traveling  alone or with family and friends, is priceless. And yet travel always  involves a certain element of risk, depending as it does on Mother  Nature and complicated machines to work together to get us where we want  to go. It’s a scenario that calls for an expert—and where the cost of  using a professional travel agent comes back many times over. Here

Cancun is an Awesome place to visit!!

Cancun may bring to mind raucous Spring Break parties, but there are plenty of things to do if you want a more relaxed trip. Here are some of the top reasons to make the trip to Mexico’s most famous beach.

Snorkel or dive at the Cancun Underwater Museum (MUSA) and see some of the 470 underwater statues. The attraction is designed to give visitors somewhere else to visit to take some pressure off the overused reef.

Take a day trip down the coast to the town of Tulum home to some amazing cliff side ruins from the old Mayan port. It’s a unique spot and there are great photo opportunities.

The biggest fish in the world are found in the waters off Cancun from May to September each year. Take a tour from Cancun or head to Isal Holbex or Cozumel.

Sign up to a day trip to Xel-Ha water park, home to slides, snorkelling and boat trips. It’s great for kids, but it’s a lot of fun for adults too. Tickets can be fairly pricey, but it’s a once in a lifetime experience.  Cancun airport is the second-busiest in Mexico, and it has great connections to cities across the Americas and Europe. As a result there are cheap flights galore, and you can tack on a few days in Cancun at no great expense.

Fans of snorkeling love because it sits on the Mesoamerican Reef, the second-longest coral reef in the world. You can spot seemingly endless varieties of marine life, and the water is warm.

Cancun welcomes visitors from around the world, and many of them have left traces of their culture here. The most evident is in the restaurants, with eateries from different world cuisines catering to diverse tastes.

From opulent all-inclusive resorts to backpacker hostels, accommodation options in Cancun truly run the gamut. Stay in the Hotel Zone for easy access to the beach and other amenities, or find a hostel in the center of town if you’re on more of a budget.

Relax at the beach bars and restaurants in Cancun, or head further south to find quieter stretches of sand at Puerto Morelos, Akumal, It’s picture postcard stuff, with white sand and palm trees everywhere.

TRAVEL 101

Is it necessary to have a passport to travel outside the USA? Yes,  unless you are traveling to one of the US territories. This would  include Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, St. Thomas, St. John and  St. Croix. It is not necessary to travel with a passport when going on  an ocean cruise if you arrive back into the same port as your departure,  however, it is advisable as you would not be able to return to the US  without a passport should the need arise during your travel.

Be a savvy traveler and know before you go. This will make your  travel easier and keep a lot of other travelers from wanting to punch  you out right in the line at TSA. If you are not a pre-check traveler,  remove your shoes, belts, jewelry and jackets and place them in a bin.  Put your quart size zip-lock baggie of liquids, gels and aerosols in the  bin too. Familiar yourself with the 311 rule and other important  information at http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information.  Put your computer in a bin by itself. PLEASE don’t wait until you are  next in line to get your things ready, be a good scout and be prepared

WHY YOU NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE?

Often travel arrangements are non-refundable or subject to stiff  cancellation penalties. The lowest cost airline and cruise offers  usually penalize you greatly if you must cancel your trip. What if your travel supplier declares bankruptcy? Someone in your family falls ill or dies? You lose your job?
Travel insurance protects your travel investment in such situations. Baggage Loss or Delay
You’ve heard it before, but it bears repeating: leave your valuables at  home! But what if your bags are damaged, lost or stolen or they just  don’t arrive on time? Terrorist Incidents
Since 2001, Terrorist Incidents that disrupt travel plans have become a  reality. If your planned trip is affected by an unforeseen Terrorist  Incident, the TravelSafe plans are there to protect you. Medical Expenses / Emergency Assistance
Does your health insurance cover you when you leave home? Some plans  only offer limited coverage away from home; Medicare does not cover you  outside the United States at all. What if you need emergency medical  transportation? Many personal plans do not provide this type of  coverage. Trip Cancellation or Interruption
Unforeseen events or reasons beyond your control can influence your  travel plans. Do you want to protect your prepaid trip costs if you must  cancel or interrupt your trip? Non-Medical Emergency Evacuation
Natural disasters sometimes occur…or perhaps a political situation heats  up, how do you get out of harms way? With our Non-Medical Emergency  Evacuation benefit, we will get you to the nearest place of safety or  home if a formal recommendation from the appropriate local authorities  or the U.S. State Department issues a formal recommendation for you to  leave the country you are visiting. Whether it’s a natural disaster;  civil, military or political unrest; or your being expelled or declared a  persona non-grata. Trip / Travel Delay Benefits
What if you are stranded in a connecting city due to a flight delay or  cancellation? Who is going to pay for your hotel stay and what about  meals? The Trip / Travel Delay benefit reimburses you for meal and hotel  expense due to carrier and other covered delays of 6 or more hours.  Airlines don’t pay these expenses unless they are responsible for your  delay. Most delays are due to bad weather, which is beyond an airline’s  control, and the bad weather causing your flight delay could even be in a  city not on your itinerary.

3 Reasons Why Travel Agents Are Still in Demand

Here are the top three reasons while travel agents are still in demand:

  1. Expert Advice

Travel agents are industry trained professionals who are experts at  navigating through the options and asking the right questions to ensure  their clients find the right vacation.  Their expert recommendations are  the kinds of details that take a vacation from good, to incredible. Not  to mention they are typically seasoned travelers and travel enthusiasts  who can share their experiences and tips for destinations around the  globe. This knowledge allows them to make educated recommendations based  on their clients’ needs to design the perfect holiday experience  they’ve been daydreaming about.

  1. Best Value

A key benefit of working with a travel agent is that not only are  they often able to secure better fares but they also add value to your  vacation. They can save you hours of stressful research and review  reading by asking you a few simple questions about what kind of vacation  you’re looking for and guiding you in the right direction with their  industry knowledge. In addition, our clients often receive other  exclusive extras like bonus onboard cash credits, room upgrades, reduced  deposits and more!

  1. Personal Relationship

Working with a travel agent brings back the human component of sales  that is rare today providing an opportunity for our vacation consultants  to get to know their customers and build a relationship where they can  provide them with the best service for their needs. Our vacation  consultants take pride in making dream vacations come true for travelers  in their community and being right here in your neighborhood allows  them to connect with you on a more personal level.
